When we first started talking, Bob would randomly look through my patterns and tutorials and send me a message like “Do you know what this needs? POCKETS!!” So then the joke became zippers (me) and pockets (him).
One of the things he got fixated on early was this travel pillow that I had made with an elastic strap on the back to secure to your luggage. He just thought it was so cool. So I sent him two Star Trek pillowcases for his birthday back in September. He got even more excited about them after that. :)
I’m pretty sure that’s when I came home and sewed a Bob Pocket onto a travel pillow!
As for charging, I have a crazy long cable and both earbud and charging cables will fit through the bottom of the pocket, or if you have a phone with the headphone jack on the opposite side as the charging port, there is enough room next to the velcro to run a cable in either direction. I found one of my planes had a USB charger in the armrest, so I was able to listen to music the entire flight while charging. It was fantastic.
A big thank you to Bob for running the Facebook Page for the past couple of weeks while I’ve had the flu. We’ve all had so much fun with him entertaining us that I think I’ll let him stay in charge over there!
I wrote the travel size section on Day 0 and Day 1 of the flu, which I thought was a nasty cold and turned into this plague everyone seems to have with all of the fatigue and miserableness that comes with it. It took me the rest of the 14 days to finish the full size version. When I would text Bob on the days that he knew I felt better, his replies started coming in the form of photos like this:
It was mostly to make me laugh since I was so sick, but he did have a point that if I was feeling up for it, I should be sewing. :)
Anyway, I asked Bob to tag his FB posts so you all knew when he was posting instead of me. Now they all end with -Bob “You should be sewing!” #bobpocket
So, it’s finally done! I will now move on to prototyping wallets, and you should be sewing! :D
