This is the bag everyone has been waiting for! The perfect size for shopping hands-free or taking just-enough-but-not-too-much to that summer outing. People will ask you where you got your designer handbag. Zippers are not scary! 15 pages of full color, tutorial style instructions will walk you through exactly how to install the zips. Learn how to install a wide opening inset, recessed zipper, a technique you can out into use on many other bags as well. The front of the bag features a slip pocket for whatever you need handy and a secure zipper pocket for your phone or wallet. The special front pocket construction allows the pocket to lay flat and keeps the bulk out of the seams. The adjustable strap gives you the option of wearing this cross body or just on one shoulder, and the method of construction allows you to get a full strap out of just a single yard of fabric!
This bag will easily carry your e-reader or trade paperback!

This is the first of your patterns that I've tried. I make bags but not with zip top closures and have had friends ask me for some. I tried video tutorials on you tube to try to do it but it didn't really work out.I decided to give your pattern a go as I'd heard good things about your stuff. Just finished my bag and wanted to let you know that it was great! It took me a long time but that was because it was new - the next one will be quicker now I know what I'm doing. Just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful detailed instructions and photos. So clear and easy to follow. Brilliant. Will be back for more!
I got this pattern a week ago and have made my first bag. I so love this style and will be making more. Didn't have any problems with following or understanding the pattern. Loved all the very detailed photos. Thank you for a freat pattern.
Do you have a you tube video on the construction of this bag? I am having some trouble with the instructions
Hi Linda! I haven't made a video for the Two Zip Hipster because the instructions are so detailed, but I am more than happy to help you if you email me! firstname.lastname@example.org
This bag is beautiful and is my new favorite bag. It is big enough to hold all of the essentials including both sunglasses and glasses. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. There are tons of pictures that show exactly how to perform each step. Particularly nice is that I didn't have to print the pattern pieces as I don't have a printer at home. I will definitely be purchasing more patterns. Thank you!
I made this bag over a year ago and have used it off and on. It was very easy to make with the detailed directions, and it turned out so professional. The bag passed a pretty intense test this month though as I traveled to three European cities, walking 10+ miles each day. This bag was INVALUABLE. It was the perfect size with the perfect pockets and zippers. I told my husband more than once that I was very thankful that I had that exact bag with me, and I was going to write a review saying so when we got home. I can't wait to make more bags just like this, both for me and for others!
Thanks Heidi! I'm thrilled the bag passed your test! :)
This is the bag I carry every day. It holds the things I need to have with me all the time. The pattern is well written and the result you get is very professional. I appreciated the techniques for interfacing and zippers. I get tons of compliments on this bag and will certainly make more asap.
This is such a nice pattern! The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I made my bag and added some qulting. You can see my project here: https://kyllsa.wordpress.com/2016/05/08/two-zip-hipster-laukku/
This is a fabulous pattern! The instructions were clear and easy to follow. All of the pattern pieces are either squares or rectangles. I printed the pattern at 85% and it made a bag that measured 8"x7"x2". It turned out so cute, and the zipper installation were so much easier than I had anticipated! I wish I could post a picture of my bag because I love it! Thank you!
Terrific pattern , easy to follow.
Makes up lime a dream like all of Erin's patterns I've seen so far.
Would be very easy to modifiy it to your own needs, like another pocket or resizing.
Wish I could post a PIC of mine, it's beautiful?
I made this bag for a trip to Europe. The size and the two pockets on the outside (one zippered) made it easy to jeep track of everything. I especially like the zippered opening at the top of the bag; I sometimes left the top unzipped so I could jam my guide book in there along with everything else. The instructions are excellent and the bag turned out great. I did end up with a couple stray fabric pieces when the bag was done...user error? I now use this as my everyday bag and would make it again in a heartbeat.
That sounds great... except for the leftover pieces. There definitely shouldn't be any of those! If you make it again please email me and I'll see if I can figure out where they came from. :)
